WInter Solstice

King winter has been visiting Melbourne lately.  It has been a wet, sloppy and grey kind of week but tonight we'll celebrate the winter Solstice and read  The Shortest Day: Celebrating the Winter Solstice by Wendy Pfeffer.  It is a beautiful book filled with lovely images and it explains the significance of Solstice.  It even has activities and experiments in it.

In our house, the Solstice means that we can start dreaming and planning for spring...hooray!  We dream and think of the new shoots of green that will be sprouting from the earth, daffodils in bloom and hearing the birds chirp around us.

That will be lovely.
Soon!
